A long time ago I fell in love with Tulum. Over the years, this Maya town on the Mexican Caribbean coast revealed to me a wondrous multitude of sights and sounds. Yet, when I followed an old dream of a new life by the sea, what moved me most was the drama of Tulum sunsets. Unpredictable in color and texture, always inspiring and endlessly captivating, every evening the sky offered me its gifts. And as this city dweller surrendered to the silence of commercial-free life, with only the sea slowly breathing at my side – I accepted and recorded, hoping to return the favor someday, by sharing what the sky had shared with me.
As places of natural beauty are disappearing from our planet with increasing speed, I hope my photographs can serve as a reminder of those rare locations in the world which are still intact, ones we can still preserve and use as an example of future possibilities. I hope you enjoy the collection and help to spread the word about conservation of Tulum’s ecological ideals.
