About
ANNA FISHKIN
Photographer / Producer / Explorer
Born in Minsk, Belarus, Anna grew up in former Soviet Union where years of dance and ballet training began to shape her future interest in photography. During teenage years her family immigrated to the United States as political refugees. While learning the workings of the Western capitalist system, Anna’s creative expression shifted to the more solitary activity of drawing and painting.
During her university years at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Anna continued to moonlight as an illustrator, creating architecture and archeology drawings for various publications at the Historical Society of Wisconsin. Later she transferred to Columbia College in Chicago and graduated with a BA in graphic design and photography. After a successful 10-year career in advertising, Anna felt spiritually unfulfilled and searching for a quiet place to reinvent herself she moved to Tulum, Mexico, in 2010.
Currently Anna splits her time between Mexico City, Tepoztlan and Tulum. Her photography work is wide-ranging and focused on collaboration with entrepreneurs and lifestyle brands that promote a conscious, sustainable relationship with nature. Anna’s most recent projects include photographing the world of Mexico for the famous Forza Horizon 5 video game as well as the cookbook ‘Nourish Yourself, Nurture Our World’ written by Tulum-Malibu’s The Real Coconut restaurant founder Daniella Hunter. As a producer, in her travels around the world Anna is passionate to discover unique characters with powerful stories such as ‘Pacha Kuti: The Golden Path’, the short film collaboration with partner director/cinematographer Reed Rickert for NatGeo Wild.
